Sri Sarada College of Nursing started functioning in 2022 under the aegis of Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama Charitable Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram. This 300 bedded specialty hospital was started in 1937 as an extension of Sri Ramakrishna Ashramam, Nettayam, which is a branch of world-wide Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission with its Head Quarters at Belur, West Bengal. Government of Kerala has issued letter of permission and KNMC, INC and KUHS have accorded sanction to start BSc Nursing course with an annual intake of 40 students. As per the decision of management, the college joined the Private College Nursing Management Association of Kerala (PNCMAK) for allotment of students.
Admissions for the first year were completed and all the 40 seats (Government seats: 20; Management seats: 14 and NRI seats: 6) have been filled by 31 girls and 9 boys. First Semester classes were started on 5.12.2022.

The College functions temporarily in the second floor of the hospital building (VIHENI). Administrative block, Principal’s office, faculty rooms, Library, Computer Lab, Pre Clinical Lab, Examination Hall, Common rooms for boys, girls and staff are functioning in this floor. Construction of the permanent building for the College in the property owned by the Hospital at Nettayam is progressing well.

All faculty members are enrolled in the Faculty Enrolment Programme (FEP) of KUHS.
Presently, the College Library has 1500 books, national and international journals, internet and photocopying facility which are available for staff and students.
The academic, co-curricular and day to day activities are monitored by the College Council, Management Committee, Academic Monitoring Committee, Anti Ragging Committee, Curriculum Committee, Library Committee, Staff Development Committee, Mess Committee and Parent Teacher Association.
Health check up – On admission, every student will undergo a medical examination and thereafter, annual check up will be arranged. Medical care will be given to all students in case of any illness. A health card is maintained for all students.
Hostel accommodation has been provided to boys and girls in the institution’s own building. Facilities for indoor and outdoor games and recreation facilities are available in the campus. Three vehicles with 33 seats, 21 seats and 15 seats are available for the transportation of students.
Student Support and Guidance Programme (SSGP)
Students are allotted to their mentors for guidance and counselling as and when needed. Periodic mentoring sessions are conducted and reports are updated and appropriate measures are taken for the students, who require guidance.
Co-curricular/extra curricular activities
The College has given due importance to socio cultural and spiritual activities to facilitate all round development of students. Fresher’s day celebration was conducted on 18.12.2022. World AIDS Day was celebrated on 01.12.2022. Christmas celebration was conducted as a combined programme of BSc(N) and GNM students. World TB day was celebrated on 24.03.2023. Nurses’ day was celebrated on 12.05.2023.
